Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Select appropriate welding equipment, materials, and methods for projects.
Responsible for preparing and submitting and Quality reports to the client.
Provide technical support to welders and production staff.
Conduct welding procedure qualification tests and welder performance qualifications.
Monitor welding activities to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety.
Analyse welding defects and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve welding-related issues.
Maintain welding documentation and certification records.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
Liaise with classification society for survey and certifications
Qualifications:
Education:
Diploma or degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years of welding engineering experience in Marine and Oil & Gas sectors.
Experience with welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, ISO).
Familiarity with various welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, etc.)
Familiarity in fabrication of offshore structures, platforms & Piping and installation
Familiarity with offshore standards and requirements (ABS, DNV, BV, LR etc)
