Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Select appropriate welding equipment, materials, and methods for projects.
- Responsible for preparing and submitting and Quality reports to the client.
- Provide technical support to welders and production staff.
- Conduct welding procedure qualification tests and welder performance qualifications.
- Monitor welding activities to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Analyse welding defects and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve welding-related issues.
- Maintain welding documentation and certification records.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
- Liaise with classification society for survey and certifications
Qualifications:
Education:
- Diploma or degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of welding engineering experience in Marine and Oil & Gas sectors.
- Experience with welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, ISO).
- Familiarity with various welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, etc.)
- Familiarity in fabrication of offshore structures, platforms & Piping and installation
- Familiarity with offshore standards and requirements (ABS, DNV, BV, LR etc)
