Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Select appropriate welding equipment, materials, and methods for projects.
  • Responsible for preparing and submitting and Quality reports to the client.
  • Provide technical support to welders and production staff.
  • Conduct welding procedure qualification tests and welder performance qualifications.
  • Monitor welding activities to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Analyse welding defects and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve welding-related issues.
  • Maintain welding documentation and certification records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Liaise with classification society for survey and certifications

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Diploma or degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of welding engineering experience in Marine and Oil & Gas sectors.
  • Experience with welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, ISO).
  • Familiarity with various welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, etc.)
  • Familiarity in fabrication of offshore structures, platforms & Piping and installation
  • Familiarity with offshore standards and requirements (ABS, DNV, BV, LR etc)
