General Description
Offshore operation, maintenance and repair of the ROV/Trenching system and ancillary equipment under the direction of the Superintendent/Supervisor.
Duties/Responsible
- To ensure that all ROV operations requirements under his/her control are undertaken safely and efficiently in accordance with approved procedures and Helix Robotics Solutions QHSE&E Policy & Objectives.
- To deputise for the ROV Supervisor as and when directed by the Company requirements, e.g. Supervisor attending meetings or Crew Changing.
- Updating of the PMS records
- Stock-taking and inventory control of the system spares and consumables.
- Completion of system and project paperwork (e.g inventory, weekly ROV/safety reports, dive logs, video logs, etc…) under the direction of the Superintendent or Supervisor
- To provide “on the job” training where considered necessary.
- Attendance at, and when nominated, chairing weekly safety meetings.
- To conduct ROV/Trenching and systems offshore maintenance in compliance with the Company schedules.
- Good housekeeping of the ROV/Trenching system.
- To carry out other tasks as may be delegated by the Company management or Supervisor.
HSE Responsibilities
- Be familiar with and comply with the Company policies and procedures at their place of work
- Recognizes health, safety and environmental hazards and suggest means of eliminating or controlling these hazards
- Must stop the job in the event that they, others or equipment may be exposed to injury/damage.
- Report all hazards to management whether they are addressed or not
- Use the reporting system for reporting all incidents, Near misses and Unsafe acts
- Assists with generating, updating and reviewing risk assessments and JSA’s
- Has a a good knowledge of emergency plans, alarms and actions required in the event of an emergency
- Participate in HSE Meetings and TBT within their department
- Participate in accident investigations where required
- Complies with all the Employee responsibilities listed in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- When enrolled in the Company sponsored training schemes, every effort must be made to complete all learning modules
Qualification
- Shall preferably be qualified in an engineering discipline to a nationally recognised standard or time served technician with minimum of 3 years experience
- Shall meet IMCA competence criteria by satisfactorily completing an assessment as a Senior Pilot Technician with a nominal minimum of 3 years offshore experience and 300 hours piloting
- Shall possess extensive knowledge of current safety and quality standards as applied to systems and their requirements in a offshore environment
- Shall possess current offshore survival, medical certification and passport
