This job requires qualified and experienced personnel who have extensive working experience in offshore environment. The incumbent will work in offshore, Sabah waters.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1) OPERATING THE AMPELMANN SYSTEM
The Operator/Mechanic is responsible for overall safe operations with the Ampelmann on the project. He operates the Ampelmann system according to Company procedures and connects the gangway to an offshore structure in the correct manner. He acts correctly during all emergency situations. He is responsible for filling inn the DPR and updating the Tool Container Consumption list. He creates a handover for a every crew change.
2) TRAINING AND ASSESSING
He ensures that the operators, with different competence levels, on the project have the required knowledge, expertise and skills before performing their tasks independently. He trains and assess if the operators are on the required level, monitors their progress and guide them. He shares improvement points with the Trainer Operator group and L&D.
3) POINT OF CONTACT
He assures that relevant information is shared in a clear and professional way to the operators, client, PM, and other relevant parties. He finds, build, and maintain contacts on the vessel for a smooth operation. He is expected to give input on changes, to thinks of possible solutions and share updates with the Operator Pool.
4) SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
The Operator/Mechanic is responsible for daily pre-start checks and weekly / monthly maintenance according to Company procedures and within the correct time frame.
4) OPERATIONAL TROUBLE SHOOTING
He can discover and locate errors. He follows instructions from the OCC to solve issues according to procedures and checks if these are resolved correctly.
5) ADMINISTRATION & DOCUMENTATION
The Operator/Mechanic is responsible for keeping himself updated with the latest company and project related information. He is responsible for keeping his certification updated. He is familiar with safety programs and submits report of unsafe situations. He submits timesheets an weekly basis for internal hour registration.
6) ADDITIONAL TASKS
The Operator/Mechanic is to perform additional tasks related to his role, including but not limited to: assisting with mobilization or demobilization and maintenance / production activities on lo location. He can be asked to assist during a training (e,g BOT). He can be asked to assist in different projects e.g. method statements, manuals, improvement projects.
