-Overall responsibility for engine department operations, maintenance, and crew supervision

-Ensure safe operation of main engines, propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary systems

-Manage planned maintenance, spare parts, budgets, and cost control

-Oversee bunkering operations, fuel management, and oil record keeping

-Ensure compliance with statutory, class, SMS, and HSE requirements

-Report defects, non-conformities, and safety or environmental risks to the Master
