Key responsibilities:
- execute field service work for marine diesel engines, ideally 2-stroke engines, both onshore and offshore as instructed by the supervisor/site manager.
- carry out installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on engines and related rotating equipment.
- coordinate work sites with clients, team members, and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations.
- in the absence of the supervisor, independently lead and manage tasks at site when required.
- perform service tasks such as changing bearings, measuring bearing clearances, replacing couplings, and carrying out precise alignments using dial gauge indicators.
- disassemble and reassemble rotating equipment on site, ensuring accurate recording of technical data and proper marking of parts.
- prepare clear and detailed service reports and document all work performed and findings.
- ensure quality, safety, and performance standards are met at all times.
Job requirements
- bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in mechanical engineering or related discipline, with more than 7 years of experience in marine diesel engines, ideally 2-stroke engines.
- strong knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines and related systems.
- skilled in reading and interpreting technical manuals, drawings, and detailed cross-sectional diagrams.
- proficient in using measuring tools such as dial indicators, vernier calipers, and micrometers.
- demonstrates strong analytical thinking, independence, punctuality, hands-on approach, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- good reporting and communication skills in english for effective interaction with clients, subcontractors, and team members on site.
- willingness to travel frequently and work under challenging offshore or on-site conditions.
