Blaster Painter – Offshore/Onshore

Responsibilities:
* Perform surface preparation by blasting (dry/wet abrasive blasting, high pressure water jet, etc.) to remove rust, old coatings, scale, and contaminants.
* Clean and prepare metal surfaces (pipes, structural steel, vessels, platforms) before painting.
* Apply protective coatings, primers, intermediate coats, and finish coats using spray, brush, roller, or airless methods.
* Ensure paint mixing and application according to specification (thickness – WFT/DFT, curing, etc.).
* Inspect surface profile and paint finishes; correct defects (blistering, peeling, runs, etc.).
* Maintain and clean blasting/painting equipment.
* Ensure work areas are safe, properly masked, and protected; follow HSE procedures (Permit-to-Work, PPE, confined space, etc.).
* Work at heights, on scaffolding, elevated platforms, and possibly in confined spaces.

Requirements:
* Valid BOSIET / T-BOSIET with CA-EBS certificate for offshore assignments.
* Certification in coating / blasting / protective surface preparation (e.g. IMM / SSPC / equivalent).
* OGSP / OSP Safety Passport (if required) and H₂S Safety Training.
* Minimum experience: usually 2-3 years in blasting & painting works (offshore experience preferred).
* Physically fit; able to wear PPE (blast hood, respirator), work outdoors/exposed environs, withstand heat, fumes, etc.

Skills Required:
* Knowledge of abrasive blasting, surface profile measurement.
* Skills in painting/coating techniques (spray / airless / brush etc.).
* Attention to detail for quality & finish.
* Awareness of safety & coating systems and specification compliance.
* Good communication and ability to work in a team; ability to follow instructions & work under supervision.
