Marine Pipefitter Technician

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install ship piping systems, including freshwater, seawater, fuel, cooling, pumps, and other ship piping as required by design.
• Measure, cut, shape, and connect pipes made of various materials such as PVC, PEX, stainless steel, galvanized steel, or copper.
• Conduct leak tests and ensure all piping systems function properly and comply with safety and quality standards.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and piping diagrams.
• Collaborate with production teams and other technicians to ensure piping systems integrate smoothly with other ship systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma (D3) in Mechanical Engineering, Piping, or related field.
• At least 1 year of work experience as a piping technician in shipbuilding or piping system construction.
• Knowledge of different piping materials and joining techniques (welding, fitting, flaring, etc.).
• Ability to read isometric drawings, P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and technical specifications.
• Detail-oriented, disciplined, and a strong team player.
• Willing to work at shipbuilding project sites.
