Good day.

My name is Abid Salwan from Singapore, and I am applying for a Second Officer position. I hold a Chief Officer Unlimited (CoC 2 from MPA), DP Basic, valid medical, and a US visa, and I am available for immediate joining. I am also open to an OOW trainee or apprentice role.

I have been sailing in the main fleet since 2018 and am now working to transition into offshore vessels. Over the past four months, securing a placement has been difficult due to the usual requirement for prior offshore experience. I am willing to start in a trainee position and need one opportunity to gain experience.

I also gained DP-2 exposure on the Pacific Kestrel during its reactivation. Although listed as Marine Technician, I carried full 2/O responsibilities—passage planning, navigation support, GMDSS checks, LSA/FFA upkeep, deck operations, and daily reporting. This built strong technical awareness and adaptability to offshore systems.

I work well under pressure, maintain discipline, and integrate quickly with new teams. I would appreciate your consideration for any suitable or urgent openings.
