Job Scope / Responsibilities:
1. Commissioning Planning & Management
Lead the planning, execution, and coordination of commissioning activities for ICT, telecom, and navigational systems on offshore platforms, vessels (e.g., FPSOs), or facilities.
Develop commissioning plans, FAT/SAT procedures, and test documentation in accordance with client specifications, classification society standards (ABS, DNV, etc.), and industry best practices.
2. System Commissioning & Integration
Oversee commissioning of telecommunication systems
Ensure full integration of ICT systems with platform control and automation systems.
3. Technical Coordination & Interface Management
Coordinate with system vendors, construction teams, and client representatives to ensure proper installation, configuration, and testing of all ICT and telecommunication systems.
Manage interfaces between various subsystems
4. Documentation & Compliance
Review and verify commissioning documentation
Ensure all systems are commissioned in compliance with project HSE plans, cybersecurity protocols, and applicable standards
5. Handover & Operational Readiness
Prepare handover documentation and support operational acceptance of systems.
Provide as-built documentation, configuration backups, and training to client or operations teams.
Resolve punch list items and support close-out of telecom and ICT-related commissioning packages.
6. Leadership & Reporting
Lead a team of commissioning engineers and technicians on site (onshore or offshore).
Monitor progress and report commissioning status to project management.
Troubleshoot complex network or communication issues during testing and integration.
Requirements:
Degree or diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, or ICT Engineering.
8–10 years of experience in site commissioning within the marine/offshore oil & gas sector.
Strong technical knowledge of telecom systems, navigational systems, and ICT networks.
Experience with IP addressing, VLAN configuration, network security, and industrial protocols.
Familiarity with offshore standards and safety protocols; certifications such as BOSIET, HUET preferred.
Hands-on experience with FAT, SAT, and site commissioning procedures.
