About the role

Offshore operation, maintenance and repair of the ROV/Trenching system and ancillary equipment under the direction of the Superintendent/Supervisor

Duties/Responsibilities

  1. To perform ROV operations as instructed and in accordance with approved procedures and the Company QHS&E Policy & Objectives
  2. Updating of the PMS records
  3. Stock-taking and inventory control of the system spares and consumables
  4. Completion of system and project paperwork (e.g. inventory, weekly ROV/safety reports, dive logs, video logs, etc…) under the direction of the Superintendent or Supervisor
  5. To conduct ROV/Trenching and systems offshore maintenance in compliance with the Company schedules
  6. To carry out other tasks as may be delegated by the Company management or Supervisor

HSE Responsibilities

  1. Be familiar with and comply with the Company policies and procedures at their place of work
  2. Recognizes health, safety and environmental hazards and suggest means of eliminating or controlling these hazards
  3. Must stop the job in the event that they, others or equipment may be exposed to injury/damage
  4. Report all hazards to management whether they are addressed or not
  5. Use the reporting system for reporting all incidents, Near misses and Unsafe acts
  6. Assists with generating, updating and reviewing risk assessments and JSA’S
  7. Has a good knowledge of emergency plans, alarms and actions required in the event of an emergency
  8. Participate in HSE Meetings and TBT within their department
  9. Being conversant with the Project HSE Plan as it applies to ROV/Trenching Operations
  10. Participate in accident investigation where required
  11. Being conversant with the Project HSE Plan as it applies to ROV/Trenching Operations
  12. Participate in accident investigation where required
  13. Complies with all the Employee responsibilities listed in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  14. When enrolled in COL sponsored training schemes, every effort must be made to complete all learning modules complies with all COL PPE requirements and procedures

Qualification

  1. Shall preferably be qualified in an engineering discipline to a nationally recognised standard or a time served technician with a minimum of 3 years experience
  2. Shall meet IMCA competence criteria by satisfactorily completing assessment as a Pilot/Technician Grade II
  3. Shall possess extensive knowledge of current safety and quality standards as applied to systems and their requirements in a offshore environment
  4. Shall possess current offshore survival, medical certification and passport
