About the role
Offshore operation, maintenance and repair of the ROV/Trenching system and ancillary equipment under the direction of the Superintendent/Supervisor
Duties/Responsibilities
- To perform ROV operations as instructed and in accordance with approved procedures and the Company QHS&E Policy & Objectives
- Updating of the PMS records
- Stock-taking and inventory control of the system spares and consumables
- Completion of system and project paperwork (e.g. inventory, weekly ROV/safety reports, dive logs, video logs, etc…) under the direction of the Superintendent or Supervisor
- To conduct ROV/Trenching and systems offshore maintenance in compliance with the Company schedules
- To carry out other tasks as may be delegated by the Company management or Supervisor
HSE Responsibilities
- Be familiar with and comply with the Company policies and procedures at their place of work
- Recognizes health, safety and environmental hazards and suggest means of eliminating or controlling these hazards
- Must stop the job in the event that they, others or equipment may be exposed to injury/damage
- Report all hazards to management whether they are addressed or not
- Use the reporting system for reporting all incidents, Near misses and Unsafe acts
- Assists with generating, updating and reviewing risk assessments and JSA’S
- Has a good knowledge of emergency plans, alarms and actions required in the event of an emergency
- Participate in HSE Meetings and TBT within their department
- Being conversant with the Project HSE Plan as it applies to ROV/Trenching Operations
- Participate in accident investigation where required
- Being conversant with the Project HSE Plan as it applies to ROV/Trenching Operations
- Participate in accident investigation where required
- Complies with all the Employee responsibilities listed in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- When enrolled in COL sponsored training schemes, every effort must be made to complete all learning modules complies with all COL PPE requirements and procedures
Qualification
- Shall preferably be qualified in an engineering discipline to a nationally recognised standard or a time served technician with a minimum of 3 years experience
- Shall meet IMCA competence criteria by satisfactorily completing assessment as a Pilot/Technician Grade II
- Shall possess extensive knowledge of current safety and quality standards as applied to systems and their requirements in a offshore environment
- Shall possess current offshore survival, medical certification and passport
