Job Description
• Inspect, service and repair marine HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and control-system faults.
• Service chilled-water systems, package units, split units, AHUs, FCUs, condensing units and ventilation systems.
• Maintain marine refrigeration equipment, including cold rooms, freezer rooms, provision rooms and refrigeration plants.
• Perform refrigerant charging, recovery, evacuation, vacuum testing and leak detection.
• Replace compressors, motors, fans, bearings, belts, filters, expansion valves, solenoid valves and other components.
• Inspect and repair ducting, dampers, diffusers, flexible connections and ventilation fans.
• Check refrigerant pressure, temperature, airflow, electrical current and system operating performance.
• Conduct pressure tests, vacuum tests, functional tests and commissioning activities.
• Read HVAC drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals and technical specifications.
• Carry out electrical troubleshooting of motors, starters, contactors, relays, sensors and control panels.
• Perform copper-pipe brazing and minor piping modification work.
• Diagnose faults in compressors, pumps, control valves, thermostats and safety devices.
• Prepare service reports, inspection findings, material requests and equipment condition reports.
• Maintain service tools, recovery equipment and testing instruments in good condition.
• Coordinate with vessel engineers, shipyard personnel, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Attend emergency breakdowns onboard vessels, including work outside normal hours when required.
• Follow permit-to-work, lockout/tagout, confined-space, working-at-height and hot-work procedures.
• Maintain good housekeeping and comply with company QHSE requirements.
• Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
